This one started out completely differently. The right half was the same, but the left side was plain white paper, as if someone were stepping off into blank space. One completed, however, I realized I really hated it, and it wasn't working. This was a quickly thrown together fix, but I like it much better than the original version.

Here's the second part of my red themed photo essay made while on a shooting excursion with a group of my students in downtown Chicago.

Red! part 1

I took a group of photography students into downtown Chicago recently to shoot photo essays. They were given a map with a route to follow, a two and a half hour time limit, and instructions to shoot photos which fit a theme of their choosing. I decided to shoot one myself, and had a great time doing it. It had been a while since I'd done a project like this, and I had forgotten how fun it can be.

Here's my photo essay. I had a few ideas, and ended up going with red things. I arranged the essay to suggest a progression through a typical day.
