My Favorite Photo-2019

Americana Submarine
digital photo, 2019

Happy New Year!
Lenscratch, an online contemporary photo journal, has just published their annual favorite photos of the year exhibition, where anyone can submit their one photo from the year that they like the best. As always with large group exhibition, there's some work I like, some I don't, and some that doesn't do much for me one way or the other. Your milage may (and should) vary.
My photo appears on page 4 of the 6 page exhibit, which is arranged in a loose thematic manner.
Here is the original post from March 3 I made with this photo, just two days after it was shot on March 1, 2019. Why is this one my favorite? I don't really know, to be honest. I knew I got a good one right when I pressed the shutter, but that's not really a rare occasion (even if it doesn't occur as often as I'd like!). I like the gritty, urban feel, the isolated feeling from the overhead el tracks, and the solitary person in the photo. Maybe that's it.
